An Inbound order is created by users when goods are received into the warehouse. There are three types of Inbound Orders viz.:

  • Warehouse Transfer’: Some organizations have more than one warehouse to store their goods. To receive goods sent from another warehouse maintained in the same instance of iMake WMS module, an 'Inbound Warehouse Transfer Order' is created in iMake warehouse module.
  • Sales Return’: Sometimes customers return the products delivered to them for several reasons such as product mismatch and quality issues, etc. In order to receive such goods an ‘Inbound Sales Return Order’ is created in iMake warehouse module.
  • Purchase order’: Raw materials or finished goods are purchased from different vendors. To receive those goods, an ‘Inbound Purchase Order’ is created in iMake warehouse module.

  • There is one task type available in the iMake application for an Inbound Order which is known as the ‘Put-Away’ task.
  • When a truck arrives with goods, first the truck is directed to a dock door where goods are unloaded from the truck and kept in the Inbound Staging Location. Goods are checked against the BOL carried by the truck to ensure goods being received are in correct order (Product Name, Packaging, Quantity etc.)
  • Moving goods/products from Inbound Staging Location to Stock Location is called as ‘Put-Away’.

The working procedure of an Inbound Order is as shown below:
