My company is using Microsoft Office 365 for Email

  1. If your organization is using Microsoft Office 365, you already have Azure Active Directory (referred to as Azure AD or AAD).
  2. In this model, you create and manage users and passwords in the Microsoft Office Portal which stores those accounts in Azure AD.
  3. Azure AD is the cloud directory that is used by Microsoft Office 365. No on-premises servers are required as Microsoft manages all of that for you.

My company is using a non-Microsoft Email provider (Google, Yahoo, etc.)

  1. If you want to use AAD/SSO in iRely you will need to create an Azure Active Directory account or switch of Microsoft Office 365.

What is Azure Active Directory (AAD)

  1. It's the identity platform that provides the authentication of your users credentials when they sign and and the authorization to your Microsoft 365 SaaS applications.
  2. Managing multi-factor authentication for a user from the Microsoft 365 admin center takes you to Azure Active Directory's multi-factor authentication pane, with settings for users and service-wide settings.
  3. Microsoft Office 365
    1. Is a cloud-based version of its popular software, which includes MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and SharePoint.
    2. Manage your user accounts in Microsoft Office 365 only. No on-premises servers are required to manage users; it is all done in the cloud.
