There are instances when book record does not match that of bank record. This is where the Difference field at the bottom left corner of the screen is useful. This field will show an amount other than 0.00. If that happens, you will have to determine if the problem is with your book record or with your bank. Here are some examples when this field will show other number than 0.00.
  1. Open the Bank Reconciliation screen from Cash Management module > Activities folder > Bank Reconciliation.

  2. In the Bank Account field, select the Bank Account you want to reconcile.

  3. Enter the date appearing on your Bank Statement in the Statement Date field.

  4. Enter the ending balance appearing on your Bank Statement in the Bank Statement Ending Balance field.

  5. Check the transaction in the Payments and Debits and Deposits and Credits panels that appears on your Bank Statement. If all transactions shown on your bank statement are present in these panels but the Payments and Debits and Deposits and Credits panels but there are left unchecked transactions in these panels, then that transaction/s might be part of the next bank statement or might have not been , example:

    Here is a sample of unchecked transaction. With this kind of scenario, the said transaction will be forwarded to the next reconciliation as transaction awaiting to be cleared. Other case might be, the transaction was not recorded by the bank. In With that case, you may call want to verify it with your bank to verify that transaction/s. This scenario then results to a negative amount in the Difference field at the bottom left corner of the screen. This amount equals the transaction that was left unchecked.
