• • iRely supports Windows Server 2012 R2 (we recommend 2016 for new customers)

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Standard minimum (previous versions will not be supported in versions of iRely 18.x and above)

  • iRely recommends the use of RAID(1, 5, 10) disks in all servers

    • 50+ Named Users – Dual Server architecture(either physical or VMWare/Hyper-V); SQL Server & Application Server
      • due to higher memory requirements, Server 2012 Enterprise or Server 2016 Standard or above are required
      • SQL Server – 48 GB RAM (32 GB allocated to SQL instance), 800 GB (200 GB C:\ and 600 GB D:\) of disk space, Xeon processor
      • Application Server – 48 GB RAM, 800 GB (200 GB C:\ and 600 GB D:\) of disk space, Xeon processor
      • Use of SSD hard drives in RAID 5 or RAID 10 with Hot Spares
      • prefer higher number of smaller drives to larger number of high density drives
  • The above specifications are designated with physical servers in mind. If you are using virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V) you can designate these values to start with, virtualization allows you to change these settings quickly with minimal downtime:
    • 4 logical processors per server
    • 32 GB of RAM each for the dedicated servers, or 64 GB if application and database reside on same machine
    • C:\ 200 GB (where the applications will be stored)
    • D:\ 600 GB (where the database files will reside and other temporary storage)
  • If you have Portal Users, you need to be sure to license your Microsoft SQL server using Core licensing. These licenses are sold in packs of 2. Contact your vendor for pricing.
  • iRely does not support installing our applications on Domain controllers (Note from Microsoft:

    “It is not recommended to install SQL Server on a domain controller. There are specific security restrictions when running SQL Server in this configuration and given the resource demands of a domain controller, SQL Server performance may be degraded.”), Exchange Servers, Foundation Edition or Windows Server Essentials aka Small Business Server(SBS)

  • It is recommended that the software data is hosted on a separate partition from the operating system. Typical setup would be C:\ drive for operating system and applications, and D:\ drive for iRely databases and files.
  • Reserve at least 200GB of space for the C:\ drive to allow installation of applications.
