This page will instruct you on how to update your origin software now that the service pack process will no longer function properly due to security and other changes.

Note: If you are on a hosted solution, please put a ticket in to have your origin system upgraded by support. Please call support using the helpdesk, by phone using 800-433-5724 or email support@irely.com.
To update your origin system you will need to be able to access your file server. You may need to contact your internal or external IT team to gain this access. You may also use your internal or external IT team to perform this update process if you choose.
1) After you are on the server you will need to navigate to the iRely origin installation folder. The notes below should assist you with that process.
Open windows file explorer:
There are several ways to do this. Note that it may look slightly different depending on your version of Windows and settings.
a) Select the folder icon from your Apps available on your task list bar.
b) Right click on the Start Bar/Windows Logo. Then select File Explorer.
Navigate file explorer to the "iRely" installation. Normally this is the d drive, but some companies may have it on the d or e drive.
The path will be the drive and normally a folder named irely. This example is on the c drive.
2) Now we will determine if you need to update your origin software. This step will get the current version.
Once your file explorer window is in the iRely origin folder, find the file OriginBuildDate.txt and open it. This will give you the build date of the current patch date on your system.
NOTE: if this is the first time you are doing this process, move to the next item in this process to download the most recent version file.
3) Getting the latest build date to compare with the date on your current server installation
Click this link to download the most recent version file: http://www.i21server2.com/download/conversion/OriginBuildDate.zip
From your browser, select the option to 'show in folder'
Once the folder opens, double click the file that was downlaoded.
It will open the zip file in to the windows explorer session, like this:
Double click it again and compare the date of this file we looked at earlier in your irely folder.
If they match, then you are up to date. There is nothing further to do.
If they did not match, please continue to step 4.
4) Updating your existing software using our patch file executable.
Click the following link to download the current origin patch executable: http://www.i21server2.com/download/conversion/OriginBuildUpdate.exe
Once this completes, from your internet browser select the option to 'show in folder'
Note: this is the downloads folder. It is the same one that was opened for the OriginBuildDate.txt version file.
We will now copy the file that was just downloaded to the irely folder so we can run it. You can do any method you want to copy the file, but the following is one way to do that.
From the folder that opened, find the name OriginBuildUpdate.exe then right click on it and select 'copy' as noted below.
Now you will need to open your file explorer folder you navigated to earlier where irely is installed. This will be on the d drive normally, but could be on c or e as well. The installation folder is most commonly named irely.
In that folder right click in white space and select 'paste' as shown below.
Note: This window is the 'irely folder' window.
Note: if you 'paste' is disabled, then please go back and redo the 'copy' step for the OriginBuildUpdate.exe
Note: if a pop up asks you if you want to overwrite the existing file then you will want to say yes to overwrite it.
If the copy works as expected, then the file is now in that folder as is shown in this image.
From the irely folder, double click on OriginBuildUpdate.exe.
You may have to take steps to allow this to run if your antivirus tool pops up.
NOTE: for Windows Defenders pop up, click 'More info' which will give you a Run Anyway button.
When the 7Zip program starts:
- Confirm the folder is the correct location
- Then click Extract
Select 'Yes to All' to overwrite all old files that will be updated by this update.
5) You are done. Optional review and clean up.

Close up the windows you opened.
Remove any temporary files you need to do.
Sign out/close your connection to the server as instructed by your internal or external IT team.
